Amy Davis
Hi, I am Amy Davis, MA, LPC, NCC. I am Licensed Professional Counselor and Nationally Certified Counselor with a Master’s of Arts degree in Clinical Counseling with Emphasis in Couple and Family Counseling. I also have a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology.
For over 20 years I have helped people from many walks of life overcome their obstacles. I have experience working with issues related to anxiety, depression, trauma, relational challenges, joblessness, low self-esteem, parenting and chronic illness.
I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy which is a body centered approach. This approach is “non-directive” meaning I see myself as a facilitator who helps you become aware of your own inner healer. We do this by paying attention to thoughts, emotions, inner sensations, movement impulses and the five-senses to bring to light all of the ways your body and mind “organize” around your experiences. This allows a more holistic understanding of yourself and many more options for developing coping skills and processing pain. My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, heart-felt, and client-centered. I like to infuse a bit of humor into my work as a reminder to remain gentle with yourself as you overcome adversity, heal your wounds and achieve your goals.
I see clients in traditional therapy settings as well as in our Ketamine Psychotherapy Clinic. Ketamine is a medicine that when taken at low doses allows clients to have a psychedelic experience. Psychedelic experiences often lead people to come into contact with painful material in more accessible ways as well as create deep understanding and acceptance of themselves. The medicine also promotes “neurogenesis” and through therapy, we capitalize on this neuronal growth to create new pathways that are supportive to a happy, peaceful life.
I know that what I have to offer can help because I have seen thousands of my clients have those “ah ha!” moments when they apply the strategies I teach. They experience less negative thoughts and emotions and have better interactions with their families, coworkers, friends, and most importantly with themselves. I look forward to meeting you!
