Brian Clarke

Therapy is a shared journey toward wellness and a meaningful life. My approach is collaborative and relational, focused on your strengths, personal growth, and life purpose. Together we can identify and address your concerns related to mental health, relationships, deeper meaning, career issues and more.

I foster authentic connection, and an environment of trust, openness and compassion, where we can explore even the most deeply rooted concerns that give rise to suffering and emotional distress.

My approach integrates existential therapy, which encourages exploration of life’s deeper meanings and purpose, with cognitive behavioral techniques that reframe unhelpful thoughts and perspectives. I also incorporate mindfulness and self-compassion based interventions that foster open awareness, self-acceptance, and emotional well-being. Through this cohesive approach, we can connect with your values, gain insight, and build the strength to grow and make meaningful changes.

As a Licensed Associate Counselor in Arizona and Nationally Board Certified Counselor, I have worked successfully with individuals and couples from diverse backgrounds by emphasizing the dignity and worth of all people. My experience includes a wide variety of concerns from relationship difficulties, depression and anxiety to more complex mental health challenges and trauma.

In addition to my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I also hold a PhD in Counselor Education and work as a professor in the University of Arizona Counseling Program. My work experience is diverse, from community practice and crisis counseling to providing clinical supervision, counselor training, and publishing research.

I look forward to partnering with you on your path to personal growth, insight, and well-being.
