Cori Holland (she/her/hers)
Hello! I’m a second-year counseling student at the University of Arizona. Before deciding to pursue a career in counseling, I was a nurse. I worked at the bedside as a medical-surgical nurse and labor and delivery nurse. In taking care of patients, I found that I wanted more time to discuss their health and wellbeing. As a counseling student, I look forward to having this time to help you on your healing journey.
My therapeutic approach is dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), which emphasizes exploring the relationship between your emotions and thoughts, accepting and honoring those emotions, and building skills that can help you navigate the areas of your life where you are feeling stuck, unhappy, and stressed. I strive to create a welcoming, non-judgemental space where you feel at ease to express yourself authentically and freely.
My specific areas of interest include navigating health-related stressors, burnout for healthcare professionals and caregivers, perinatal mood disorders (e.g., postpartum depression), veterans, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD).
