Jennifer Littlejohn

I’ve been working in behavioral health since 2009, and it is a second career for me. I first served in the military where I enjoyed a successful and satisfying career, and began my journey of passion for helping people. I’ve lived in 13 States across the U.S., and have assimilated into environments and ways of life spanning from Alaska to Rhode Island, and many States in between. I view culture and diversity as the beautiful tapestry of our world, and people as ambassadors to shape our existence into thriving communities.

As a therapist, I see my role as a guide to empower others to gain perspective, process challenges, and make both subtle and profound changes for long-term improvement. I believe therapy is the greatest investment one can make in self, and the path through which all other roles gain benefit. When we feel good about ourselves, we are a better partner, friend, parent, student, employee, neighbor, etc.; and through all of our roles and experiences, self-efficacy is strengthened. Life is hard, and none of us go through life without facing some adversity; but we are capable of facing and managing challenges. Therapy is processing, taking time and space to metaphorically unravel the knots and sort the puzzle pieces of the mundane day-to-day challenges as well as the more complex traumas. I utilize various modalities including CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, Family Systems Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Strategic Family Therapy, 7 Challenges, and EMDR. I enjoy working with various ages from pre-teen to late adulthood, and am passionate about empowerment, examining and challenging  core beliefs leading to dysfunction, individual and interpersonal relationship work, family and couple’s work, sexual trauma, intimate partner violence, social justice, and LGBTQIA2S+ people. I have a practical, holistic, and direct approach which has been valued by my clients, and provided safe space for diverse needs and populations.

In my spare time, I enjoy time outdoors connecting with nature and also connecting with family and friends. You can find me in the desert, in the woods, or meandering on a hike to reconnect with myself in mind, body and spirit. I’m also an endurance runner, and am mildly competitive. I compete mostly with myself and the version I was yesterday, and am more so competitive when supporting my son at any of his sporting, extracurricular or life pursuits. I look forward to working with you on the journey of self-discovery.
