Malorie Alkebulan
My therapeutic approach is grounded in intersectional feminism and trauma-informed care, emphasizing respect for each person’s unique experiences and identities while recognizing the impact of trauma and systemic oppression on mental health. I create a warm, accepting space to explore insights and techniques that empower your healing.
I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, with a focus on mindfulness, self-compassion, and critical consciousness. I also incorporate bottom-up somatic-focused therapy and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to address trauma, promoting safety, empowerment, and integration of mind, body, and spirit.
I have a background in working with adult survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and familial abuse, with experience in healthy relationships, gender-based violence intervention, and crisis advocacy. I enjoy working with couples to strengthen emotional bonds, navigate tension, and understand attachment patterns. My work is informed by Attachment-Based Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
I specialize in working with clients experiencing OCD and anxiety, utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), the gold standard for OCD treatment. I am currently obtaining certification in ERP. My approach is driven by evidence-based treatment as well as authenticity and a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. I am committed to culturally humble, anti-racist, and LGBTQIA+-affirming care, regularly seeking consultation and guidance from scientific evidence.
