Melanie Romo
Melanie Romo is an Integrative Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner dedicated to helping adults with depression, anxiety and bipolar restore confidence, revitalize social connections, overcome anxiety, reclaim energy, and find fulfillment by offering a holistic approach including pharmaceuticals, supplements, exercise/nutrition/sleep education, aromatherapy and more!
She is dedicated to getting to the root of the problem and believes medication is an option but not the only option. She pays attention to detail and has a particular interest in serving diverse populations. Melanie values the importance of the therapeutic relationship, meeting patients at their current stage of recovery and creating an environment where patients feel heard, respected, and valued. She takes a holistic approach to treatment, focusing on addressing the entire person rather than just treating symptoms.
Melanie is native to Arizona, obtained her Master’s in Nursing from The University of Arizona, has participated in trainings through the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine and has a keen interest in Traditional Mexican Folk Healing, “Curanderismo,” and its parallels with Eastern Medicine and Western Integrative treatments. She is board certified through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), has over 15 years’ experience in clinical psychiatry and is bilingual in Spanish.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her Pug, Oliver, hiking, running, and learning Flamenco. She cherishes moments with family and finds strength and inspiration through spirituality, which guides both her personal and professional life. Additionally, she enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and learning how to become a better version of herself. Melanie provides telepsychiatry services across Arizona in English and Spanish. She is accepting new patients and offers a free initial phone consultation, for more information click here: www.transitionstowardshealing.com
