Shannon Hendrickson

Welcome! My name is Shannon Hendrickson and I am a Clinical Psychologist and AZBBHE-registered clinical supervisor. I graduated with my Psy.D. from the Arizona School of Professional Psychology in 2015 and have been licensed since 2016. I have been a registered clinical supervisor with the AZBBHE since 2017. My clinical rotations included home-based bereavement therapy in hospice, individual and group therapy in residential group home for adults, interventions in community mental health, and completion of forensic evaluations within the Maricopa County justice system.

I worked as the Lead Psychologist for the Indiana Department of Correction and the Arizona Department of Corrections from 2014-2017. I then served as Clinical Director for the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections from 2017-2020. I have worked in private practice since 2020. In my current role, I provide individual telehealth therapy to adult clients, clinical supervision for associate-level and board-mandated clinicians and post-doctoral residents, operate as Intake Specialist for evaluations, and oversee a variety of administrative and clinical projects and responsibilities.

On the personal side, I am originally from Chicago and have lived in Arizona since 2008. In my free time, my four dogs and cat keep me very busy. If I’m not working, I can be found in my garden, hiking, camping, or reading. My personal interests include history, geology, and advocating for social justice causes.

I attended an EMDRIA-approved EMDR training in 2019, and I conceptualize trauma through an EMDR lens. While I do not provide EMDR processing through a telehealth platform, I am happy to assist my clients find an appropriate EMDR therapist, should the need arise. Additionally, I completed basic DBT skills training, which can be helpful for maintenance therapy for clients who have previously attended DBT individual and group therapy.
